Bredonborough.
A freezing & fer-wosty day.
At lunchtime, the temperature @ minus 1.5 C.
The Minx was up at seven, packing away the Christmas-tree ornaments & decorations until the next Season. Christmas cards are also stacked to be stored, as at the end of every Christmas.
The morning: preparing for the activities of the approaching week plus extensive launderising, all part of preparing for the return to work on Monday.
The afternoon, continuing to carry, clear & organize at World HQ; two hours everyday is moving the energy. Much of the ordering - organizing is catching up with the move to Reddish from Witchampton (1987) & the Red Lion House in Cranborne (1989); the move from Reddish to Evershot (1999); and the move to Bredonborough (2001 & 2002).
Life on the road = no personal life. An aspect of personal life is, moving into the space one inhabits. Therefore, life on the road = ongoing mess, disorder, packing awaiting unpacking, unpacking awaiting ordering. And 25 years later, there is a lot of material no longer relevant to this time: various -ologies & -isms of an earlier generation by those who taught -ologies & -isms to the present generation of authorities. Revisiting the amount of my reading, when a single man, is impressive to my present eyes; and includes more fiction than I recalled when discussing this on the Diary some months ago. A culling of the shelves is inevitable. My hope is these former-dwellers-of-Fripp-shelves find the right new shelves to extend themselves upon (alternatively for any visiting pedant: to find the right new shelves upon which to extend themselves).
